Year 11 Term 2 Update

After a focused and productive Term 1, Year 11 students have been given the opportunity to take greater responsibility for their learning. As of Term 2, they are permitted to arrive later if they do not have a Period 1 or 2 class and may leave earlier if they do not have a Period 5 or 6 class. Students can access private study spaces on campus during this time.

Tutor/Registration attendance remains compulsory, and students are expected to be on campus during the school day when they have scheduled classes or other commitments.

This added flexibility recognises the maturity students have shown so far, but also comes with the expectation that they continue to meet all academic and organisational responsibilities. This privilege may be reviewed if necessary on an individual basis.

We commend Year 11 on a strong start to the year and look forward to a productive and successful Term 2.

PPEP Talk for Year 10 Students

Next week, all Year 10 students will hear a presentation from the Pelvic Pain Foundation - Periods, Pain and Endometriosis (PPEP Talk®) Program during one of their Health lessons.  This Program is delivered by fully trained educators and incorporates animation, video and interactive components. PPEP Talk® provides early intervention and supports students, families, teachers, and schools at a time when pain is more easily managed, and the life effects of pain and missed school can be most efficiently minimised. All students participate in this program so that we learn how to best support the people in their life with pain.

The Pelvic Pain Foundation have provided a Pre PPEP Talk® Video for students, parents, or staff who want information about periods and pelvic anatomy before the PPEP Talk® session. They also offer a follow-up session called PPEP Talk® Next Steps, a FREE online session for any student who identifies a complex pain concern or would like their caregiver to know more. Students can register for upcoming sessions here
