Ms Akbay

Why did you decide to become a teacher at APS?

I decided to become a teacher because I enjoy teaching the younger generation and I love seeing them improving in their education.

What is your favourite hobby? Why?

I love cooking different cuisines because it's like putting 2 puzzles together like putting ingredients together.

What is your favourite subject to teach students? Why?

Numeracy because it's like putting puzzles together, there's steps to follow and we need numeracy in our lives.

How long have you been teaching?

A year and a half.

What is your favourite ice- cream flavour?

Mango and rainbow gelati.

What is your favourite animal? Why?

I love cats because they are cute and fluffy.

What do you see as your greatest fear?

My greatest fear in my everyday life is the fear of heights.

Rather than being a teacher, what else would you like to be and why? 

A psychologist so I can help people improve in their everyday lives and as a person.

What is your dream destination? Why?

I would love to go to Greece, because I think it has a lot of history, the colour of the water is beautiful and there are a lot of activities to do there, and the sun is brighter.

Why did you decide to become a teacher at APS?

I became a teacher at APS because I am close to the area, and I want to help this community.

What is your favourite hobby? Why?

Exercising because it makes me healthy.

What is your favourite subject to teach students? Why?

Reading because I get to pretend to be the character.

How long have you been teaching?

1 year.

What is your favourite ice- cream flavour chocolate, strawberry or vanilla?

I love them all!

What is your favourite animal? Why?

 I like dogs because they are very loyal and loving creatures.

What do you see as your greatest fear?

My greatest fear is not to achieve everything I want in my lifetime.

Rather than being a teacher, what else would you like to be and why? 

I would like to be something in the media like in front of the camera like movies and films.

What is your dream destination? Why?

Cyprus because the food and the beaches are to die for.

Why did you decide to become a teacher at APS?

I love working with children and it's very rewarding to see my students grow in their learning and it's lots of fun.

What is your favourite hobby? Why?

Cooking because I like making food for my family and I love food.

What is your favourite subject to teach students? Why?

Reading because reading is really helping my students with all the other subjects they need to learn.

How long have you been teaching?

I’ve been teaching for 6 years.

What is your favourite ice- cream flavour chocolate, strawberry or vanilla?

Chocolate

What is your favourite animal? Why?

Platypus, because it's so unique.

What do you see as your greatest fear?

My biggest fear is spiders, because they look quite creepy.

Rather than being a teacher, what else would you like to be and why? 

Dentist, because to see everyone smile with beautiful teeth.

What is your dream destination? Why?

Italy, because I love the history and culture and I love pasta.
