The Charlton RSL recently concluded its ANZAC Day School Project, which aimed to foster interest in ANZAC Day, and the values of service, mateship, and love of country among students and the community. Year 6 students participated by submitting a written piece on "What ANZAC Day means to me". The submissions were assessed by a panel of two Charlton RSL members and a community representative. The best entry was awarded an ANZAC Award and a $50 voucher for Charlton Authorised Newsagency, while all participants received a Certificate of Participation. Charlton College would like to thank Allan McGillivray (President), Jenny McGillivray & Bill Freeman for their hard work and dedication to creating such a wonderful school project. We look forward to taking part again next year.
Congratulations to Marley who took out the prize for best written piece.
Students are embracing the Olympic spirit with great enthusiasm. Students have recently began to follow the daily highlights on the TV at lunchtimes to catch up on all the action missed overnight. Students are also following along with the Australian medal tally wall in the main entrance of the primary building, celebrating the achievements of all our athletes and those from around the world.
