In the Art Room…
I would like to extend a big thank you to all those who have recently donated various art materials to the art room. Items such as fabric scraps and wool are often used in our textile explorations and the students and I are extremely grateful for the added collection.
In last week’s school assembly, we, once again, acknowledged all the students who participated in the Picasso Cow project. These students received a participation certificate awarded by Dairy Australia for all their efforts in the program. Some of the Grade 4 students who were selected to participate in the project worked on extra research tasks in their classrooms and most of these students gave up some lunch times to paint the cow. These students worked hard, enthusiastically and always with a keen interest and smile.
Our school received some excellent feedback from the judges. Though we did not win first prize we received a very high score with some outstanding comments.
The judges loved our video showcasing all the work we did behind the scenes. If you have not had a chance to view the video yet, it will become available to families via our school’s Instagram and Facebook pages in the coming weeks.
Thank you must also be extended to the Grade 4 teachers for supporting me in the project.
We will now work on finding a suitable place to house our cow in a more permanent area of our school…stay tuned!
