Bullying. No Way! (12 to 16 August 2024)

At GSPS, we are committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for all our students. As part of this commitment, we will be participating in the "Bullying. No Way!" campaign, an initiative dedicated to preventing bullying and promoting kindness and respect among students.

Throughout the week, students will engage in daily activities and discussions aimed at raising awareness about the impact of bullying and how we can work together to stop it.

We encourage you to talk to your children about the importance of kindness and standing up against bullying. Together, we can ensure that our school remains a place where every student feels valued and safe.

Please see the link below that has some excellent information and resources for families about bullying.

Emergency Drill

Last week there was a practise emergency drill that went exceptionally well. The students demonstrated calmness and followed the taught procedures. This drill is important to ensure everyone is prepared and confident in the event of a real emergency. We are proud of our students' cooperation and the dedication of our staff in making this drill a success.

Dot Day Term 3

At the end of each term, we have our highly anticipated Dot Day celebrations to acknowledge our students positive behaviours at school. If you have any activity suggestions for this event, please let us know.

Starting the Conversation...

Questions to start conversations with your child about school.

  • Did you read any interesting books today?
  • Describe a popart of your day that you'd like to see happen more often
  • What type of movement break would you choose to do?
  •  What are you looking forward to doing tomorrow and why?
  •  How did you make a difference at school today?

Respectful Relationships Education (RRE)

In our ongoing commitment to implementing Respectful Relaitonships  we encourage students to understand and respect boundaries, including their own and others.

1. What Are Personal Boundaries?

Personal boundaries are the limits we set to protect our own well-being and respect others. They involve:

  • Physical Boundaries: Personal space and touch.
  • Emotional Boundaries: Respecting feelings, privacy, and personal information.
  • Social Boundaries: How we interact and communicate with others.

2. Supporting Boundary Education at Home

We encourage you to reinforce these concepts at home with these practical tips:

  • Discuss Boundaries: Talk with your child about what personal boundaries are and why they are important.
  • Role-Play at Home: Practise setting and respecting boundaries through role-playing different scenarios.
  • Model Respectful Behavior: Demonstrate how to set and respect boundaries in your interactions with your child and others.
  • Encourage Open Communication: Create an environment where your child feels comfortable discussing their feelings and boundaries.
