We will begin the term with a focus on reviewing the school norms. The students will have the opportunity to reflect upon their aspirations and achievements during the swimming program which will work on developing integrity and further resilience. Students will complete a survey to assist identifying their personal strengths along with personal qualities they might like to set as goals for further development.
We will learn about the Visible Wellbeing evidence-based topic of Attention and Awareness. Students will learn mindfulness strategies including breathwork and movement activities to manage their emotions and responses. They will have the opportunity to practise focusing their attention whether on inner aspects of self, such as emotions and physical sensations, or external stimuli (e.g. the teacher’s lesson in the classroom). Students will also practise demonstrating awareness by paying attention to a stimulus as it occurs.
