From the Desk of Kathy Nott - Term 3, Week 2

Good Afternoon Parents/Carers,

We have had a busy and productive first week of Term 3.  Thank you to all of our students for settling in and getting prepared to learn in a timely manner.

Small Schools Soccer Knockout

Unfortunately, the Small Schools Soccer Knockout was postponed due to wet weather.  We have been advised this morning that the game will go ahead this Friday, 2nd August.  Notes will be sent home today.  If they could be returned by tomorrow it would be greatly appreciated.

NRL Inspire Health & Wellbeing Program

The NRL will be visiting our school tomorrow, Wednesday 31st July to deliver their health & wellbeing program to our Yrs 3-6 students.  Information on this program can be located in our Important Information & Events section of the newsletter or at their website: www.NRL.com

Zone Athletics Carnival

We have 28 students selected to compete in the Zone Athletics Carnival this Thursday 1st August. Good Luck everyone.  We look forward to hearing the results.

Public Education Week 2024

We will be celebrating Public Education Week from Monday 5th August through to Friday 9th August (Week 3).  This year's theme is "Proud to Belong".  Public Education Week is when we celebrate and acknowledge all those who contribute to our children and young people’s educational journey.  School staff, parents and carers, community leaders and P&C associations all play an important role in our students' education.  We will be holding an "Open Day" on Friday 9th August from 12:30pm.  We will have open classrooms, a free BBQ Lunch "cooked by the Lions Club of Werris Creek" and an Assembly to finish off the day.  All welcome to attend.

Book Week 2024

We will be celebrating Book Week from Monday, 15th August through to Friday, 19th August.  This year's theme is "Reading Is Magic".  We will be holding our Book Parade on Wednesday, 17th August at 2:00pm.  We invite our students to dress up as their favourite character on this day and parade around the middle terrace with their classmates.  A $10 book voucher is on offer for the best dressed costume in each year group.  We welcome all of our school community to come and see the fabulous array of costumes.

Book Fair 2024

To coincide with Book Week 2024, our Library will be hosting a Book Fair with the theme of "Garden - Catch the reading bug".  We invite you to come and purchase books for your children and see our fantastic garden display.  Thank you to Ms Schumann for organising and running the fair.  It takes quite a bit of organisation to make this happen and we appreciate your efforts.  Times for purchasing books can be found on our calendar.

Kind regards

Kathy Nott
