Stage 3 Debating

On Tuesday our St. Edward's (Team B) debated against St. Nicholas (Team B) in the 3rd round of the Armidale Diocesan Debating Competition. The topic for the debate was " We should teach current affairs instead of history". Our St. Edward's Team was the negative and prepared a well-evidenced and tightly structured case that saw us come out winners. We are extremely proud of their efforts. We look forward to our St. Edward's (Team A) debate against Gunnedah on Monday of next week.

 Diocesan Mathematics Workshop

Tuesday and Wednesday of this week saw our two Mathematics Specialist Teachers, Mrs Tash Gippel and Mrs Denikah Shields, participate in two days of targeted professional development in Armidale. The focus of the two days was around the effective use of formative assessment in the classrooms. As part of the two days, Tash and Denikah were able to share some of the excellent formative assessment strategies that are being utilised by the staff at St Edward's with other middle leaders across the Armidale Diocese.
