This week in Mathematics we are learning about friends of ten (addition).

VOCABULARY

Addition: adding numbers together to make a bigger number. 

Friends of ten: Two numbers that make up the number ten

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Ask you child to collect 10 things around the house (eg. 10 toys/ 10 legos). Then have them break the group of ten into two parts. Each time ask them to use the sentence…. 

______ and ______ are friends of 10

______ and ______ makes 10

For example: 5 and 5 are friends of 10 because 5 and 5 makes 10 🙂
