Stage 1

Welcome back to Term 3! We hope you had a restful break. We have an exciting and busy term of learning ahead and look forward to continuing our journey together. 

 

Thank you to all the families who joined us for our Public Education Week Assembly and Learning Showcase. Our students spoke beautifully and were thrilled to present their cities. It was wonderful to see our students sharing their learning with their families.

English

We are learning to:

• identify the purpose of a persuasive text
• understand the structure of a persuasive text
• express our opinion in persuasive writing
• use modal verbs in our writing
• write in paragraphs

Mathematics

We are learning to:

• model and use equal groups of objects to represent multiplication
• represent and explain multiplication as the combining of equal groups 
• represent and recognise division
• model doubling and halving with fractions
• count in multiples using rhythmic and skip counting

Integrated Studies

We are learning to:

• describe what we know about robots
• design a prototype to solve a problem
• design and create our own robot model 

Upcoming Events

Stage 1 will participate in gymnastics in weeks 7-10. Please keep an eye out for permission notes.
