The final step as the school looks to publish our new four-year School Strategic Plan is to revise and, as required, edit and update our school’s vision statement and values.
The vision statement is co-created with, shared and owned by the school community, is appropriate to school needs and expectations, and is easily understood by everyone.
The values statement:
Our current Vision and Values have been reflected on by staff and the School Council with student feedback the next step before we circulate the feedback to our community. I invite parent community members to share their thoughts on what they believe our school stands for and values. Please connect with me via the school office, email or in person.
Over the course of the year, our school has had moments where we've celebrated exceptional individual and group achievements. These have extended from Department of Education measures pertaining to our school's academic results (via NAPLAN) and school climate (via the Department's Student Survey), to our school-based extension and extra-curricular programs in Performing Arts, Indonesian, Visual Arts, Science, and Sport.
Over the past fortnight, our school has had an amazing run of success in the School Sport Victoria competition pathway. Four of our Summer Interschool Sport teams (Mixed Basketball, Girls Basketball, Girls Hot Shots Tennis, and Girls Softball) and, in athletics, Isla (800m & 1500m), Zander (HJ & LJ), and Chelsea (Shot) have progressed to the Regional Finals. A win in any of these events will progress them to the State Finals! This is an enormous achievement for any school and something our community should be incredibly proud of! I would like to acknowledge our team of PE teachers who, over the past three years, have developed a terrific sports culture. This has included building a love of sport amongst students and staff, and via their extension programs, progressing students through the SSV competition pathway.
As a principal, I am beyond proud of the school community and our ability to deliver a holistic education where students are supported to explore their passions, try new things and achieve their best.
Our Year 5s had a brilliant time last week on their 4-day camp to Howqua. This adventure camp was packed full of activities including high ropes, flying fox, giant waterslides, horse riding and a very exciting survivor challenge. Students were also engaged in team-building activities designed to further develop their collaboration, resilience and communication skills. Check out all the amazing activities they experienced...
