Year 7 Humanities Classes

The Year 7 Humanities Classes re-enacted the 2nd Punic War (218-201 BCE) which was a major conflict between the Roman Republic and the Carthaginian Empire. The Year 7s spent the week creating and designing their cardboard Roman shields. On battle day, Consul Kenneth Wu (’29) had to lead his legionnaires into three battle formations – the Testudo, Orbus and Pincer formations - to hold off attacks from the Carthaginians. In history, what made the Romans so effective was their ability to work together as soldiers, rather than individually as warriors. The Year 7s found that when they worked together and interlocked their shield walls, they could successfully withstand the Carthaginian arrows (pool floaties). In this exercise the students learnt about teamwork but also especially about adaptability and patience on the battlefield. A big thankyou to Helen Shanahan for lending us her paints and art materials so we could create our shields.

Year 8 Rollerblading Social

On Thursday, 24 October, Trinity students were invited to take part in a rollerblading social with Perth College. The night was an unforgettable experience for all involved. The rink was alive with enthusiasm as students enjoyed skating, forging new friendships, and creating lasting memories together. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated staff and student helpers, whose support and commitment were instrumental in making this event possible.

This event has set a wonderful precedent for future socials, and I thank all Year 8’s for embracing this opportunity. We look forward to many more shared experiences ahead!
