Stay Healthy as the Weather Changes in Spring

As we transition into the spring season, the weather can be unpredictable, and that means it’s important to stay prepared and healthy. Here are some tips to help you manage the changing conditions and avoid illness:

Protect Yourself from Allergies

Watch for Pollen: Spring is peak allergy season, especially for those with hay fever. Pollen counts can be high, causing sneezing, itchy eyes, and congestion.

Preventative Measures:

  • Keep windows closed during high pollen times (typically in the morning).
  • Shower and change clothes after being outside to remove pollen.
  • Take over-the-counter antihistamines if recommended by your doctor.
  • Consider wearing sunglasses to protect your eyes from pollen.

Signs of Allergies vs. Cold: Remember that allergies and a cold can have similar symptoms, but allergies are typically not accompanied by fever. If symptoms persist, consult with a healthcare provider.
