Spotlight on learning

Starting this week, we have a new section of our newsletter. This section is called 'spotlight on learning' and will feature a different pod each week. We want to shine a light on some of the great things that are happening inside our classrooms at Chatswood PS each week. This section will feature some photos, work samples as well as a description on what the pod has been learning about. I hope you enjoy the new page.

Well done to our students who have been successful in gaining entry into an Opportunity Class for 2025. I know that, regardless of whether or not our students were successful in this pursuit, they will continue to strive for their best every minute of every day. Their learning will continue to thrive at Chatswood.

Selective High School and Opportunity Class 2025 Information

Please visit the below website for more information on the process in 2025 for selective high school and opportunity class. This is especially important for parents and carers of children currently in Year 3 and Year 5. The application period for both OC and SHS is now the same and will run from 7 November 2024 to 21 February 2025.

Happy Diwali 

Diwali is an Indian festival, celebrated by many all over the world, symbolising the spiritual ‘victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance’. The festival is celebrated over five days, often with long parties into the night and streets being lit up by diyas, clay oil lamps, lanterns and candles. Diwali is also referred to as the ‘Festival of Lights’ with each day recognising different religious significance.

We would like to wish all those celebrating a safe and happy Diwali.

Students Not Returning to School in 2025

In preparation for 2025 and to assist with class planning, if you know your child will not

be returning to Chatswood Public School next year, please click here and complete the

google form and Leaving Letter.

Kindly note there is no need for Year 6 students to complete the leavers form unless they are leaving before the end of Term 4.

Kindergarten Orientation 2025

The Kindergarten Orientation for 2025 will be held on 6 and 13 November.

If you live in our catchment area, have a child born between 1 January 2019 - 31 July 2020, are yet to enrol at our school for Kindergarten next year and would like to attend our Orientation Program, please register your interest here

2025 Enrolments 

Applications are being accepted for Kindergarten 2025. If your child turns 5 before July 31, 2025 they are eligible to start school next year. We would appreciate local area enrolments submitting their applications as soon as possible.

We offer our support and encourage you to complete your application to enrol online. If, however you do not feel comfortable completing an application online, a paper copy will be available for collection from the front office or you can download from the Department's website.
