It was wonderful to have many families able to join us on Thursday morning to listen to our clever 1/2 students read their recently written narratives. The students have been working hard over the past few weeks to plan and draft their own narrative, with a ‘sizzling start’, a problem and a solution, with perhaps even a lesson to be learnt! After some shared editing with a teacher, they then published their narrative into a story book. Amazing work 1/2s!
As part of our Integrated Unit called ‘Our Place’, the students are learning about how to care for important or special places in our community. Mrs Hartley kindly let us adopt our very own space at SPS to bring to life. You may have noticed our new and brightly coloured wall near the stage area. Mrs Fox was so impressed by the eagerness of our 1/2 students to help her paint the wall. They did a wonderful job. Many thanks to Caleb’s dad for helping us prepare the garden bed as we are excited to begin planting soon.

Car Maths!
Have a go at this problem, then try it yourself one day! Count how many cars you see going to and from school, and then work out how many there were in total.
