Principal's Report
Dear Parents & Guardians,
With fire season fast approaching it is a good time to remind our families to ensure that all your details are up to date at the school. If you have changed address, have a new phone number or have a new alternative contact please contact the office to give us the details so that we are able to contact you if required.
Preparations have begun for our Grade 6 Graduation on December 19. We hold our graduation ceremony at the beautiful Killara Winery. Not many schools are as lucky as we are to have such a beautiful venue that looks after us so well. Information will be sent home on a regular basis. The Grade 6 students are also preparing for the next phase of their education. It is an exciting time for them with many changes occurring as they progress through to Secondary College. Discuss the transition with your child in a positive way to ensure that the transition is a smooth one. Should you have any concerns please speak to your child’s teacher, Flick or myself.
As you are probably aware, the school is pretty close to capacity. If you are planning on leaving the area and the school. Can you please let me know as soon as possible for planning purposes. We do get a lot of enquiries from people wanting to join the Woori Primary School community.
Our wonderful Prep teacher is getting married to her best friend Jesse, that’s right Jess and Jesse are getting married. On Monday Jess had a surprise (well it wasn’t a big surprise because Preps aren’t that good at keeping a secret) when she was led to the hall for a mock wedding day. I got to take Jess down the isle while the kids chanted and listened to the wedding march.
We wish Miss Lowe the best for her upcoming nuptials, I’m sure the day will be perfect!
Every school gets an annual report card sent to them from the department of education each year. I had a great deal of pleasure presenting our 2024 report card to our school council on Monday night. The report card takes into account learning and wellbeing measures across the school. Overall, our school rated in the top performance group of HIGH. Which, as always demonstrates the wonderful job our kids and the Woori Yallock staff do. We are certainly having a wonderful year.
I was simply amazed at the standard of the speakers at our junior school speech competition. We truly are preparing a lot of students for what is very important life skill, Public Speaking.

Our grade two students took part in the grade two sleepover at school last Friday. They had a ball playing games with Mr Gibbons, eating pizza and having a dance party. Eden Cantwell said, “that was the best night of my life”. I’m glad our kids had a great time. Thanks to all the teachers and parents that helped out on the night.
The busy season is coming very fast so you might want to escape to the wonderful world of a book! Have a great weekend.
