Grade 1 and 2
Students will review our work on senses and complete an assessment to show their understanding.
Grade 3 and 4
Students will learn what different recycling symbols mean and sort and classify materials into their appropriate recycling bins. They will explain why recycling is so important and how industry uses it to its advantage.
Grade 5 and 6
Students are creating their animated presentation on their chosen natural disaster.
Prep PE
This week, students will be focusing on the fundamental movement skills of ball striking and catching. When striking the ball, they will be encouraged to monitor the speed and angle of their bat swing to gain control over the direction of their hit.
Prep Sensory
In this week’s Sensory Gym sessions, students will participate in several activities and exercises designed to improve their hand-eye coordination, balance and core strength.
Grade 1 and 2
Striking and catching will be the primary focus for our Grade 1 and 2 students this week. When catching, students will be encouraged to focus on getting their body into the ideal position when catching a ball that has gone high in the air.
Grade 3 and 4
As we move into the final week of our Tennis unit, students will be given the opportunity to enjoy playing Hot Shots style mini matches. They will be encouraged to monitor their court position and to moderate the speed of their racquet swing for optimal ball placement.
Grade 5 and 6
As we move into the final week of our Tennis unit, students will be given the opportunity to enjoy playing Hot Shots style mini matches. They will be encouraged to monitor their court position and to moderate the speed of their racquet swing for optimal ball placement.
Prep
Students will be following a guided drawing of a tree including trunk and branches, then adding blossom flowers to complete their Spring 2025 calendar page.
Grade 1 and 2
Students will be finishing off their outer space sculpture and beginning to experiment with chalk pastels, bubbles and marbling techniques for a piece of work based around the planets in the solar system.
Grade 3 and 4
Students will begin a chalk pastel drawing of fairy lights, including creating the glow that come from lights at nighttime.
Grade 5
Students will be finishing off their Buddy Bears and begin a new unit based on Pablo Picasso. They will begin to create a paper collage portrait following the elements of the cubism movement.
Grade 6
Students will finish off their Graduation portrait, adding pattern details, making a gelli print background and finally framing their work for display at the Graduation.
Prep, Grade 3 and 4, Grade 5 and 6
Students will be learning their carols for the Christmas Carols Performance on December 9th. If time permits, we will continue with our learning from the previous weeks.
Grade 1 and 2
Students will have their third African Drumming Workshop.
Prep
Prep students will continue to explore the signs for the letters of the alphabet. They will participate in various games to help develop this knowledge.
Grade 1 and 2
Students will begin to explore the signs for weather and practice signing simple sentences describing the weather for the day.
Grade 3 and 4
Students will be continue to practice signing their 'weather report' in preparation for recording it in the weeks to come.
Grade 5 and 6
Students will begin to compose a short farewell or welcome message in Auslan for their prep buddies.
