⭐️ KANGAROOBIE INFO NIGHT
Thanks so much to those who attended our Kangaroobie Information Night tonight. We hope that it cleared up any queries you may have had and provided you with the information you were after.
📖 LITERACY
Students will be continuing their class novels this week and also continue 1-on-1 assessments with their teacher.
Additionally, we will be starting to watch and analyse The Inbestigators. Students will explore the structure of specific episodes, as well as script writing. In small groups, students will plan, write and record their own episode that reflects the style of The Inbestigators.
🧮 MATHS
In Maths, students will begin combining their knowledge of the four operations and decimals, with money and time to complete large, multi-step problem solving tasks. They will learn to budget for a savings goal and plan expenses related to an event. This will work in tandem with our CBL Challenge - Pitch a sustainable or ethical product to the ‘Sharks’.
💡CBL - CURIOSITY
Students will be starting to work towards creating their response to the Term Four Challenge - Pitch a sustainable or ethical product to the ‘Sharks’. Students will choose to respond independently or collaborate with a business partner. We are so excited to see what they come up with!
📗GRADE 6 MEMORY BOOK
A suggested timeline and high quality examples have been posted to your child's Showbie account under 'Memory Books'. They have been briefed on the expectations and have been encouraged to follow the suggested timeline where possible. We look forward to seeing their completed books in late Term 4.
The pages for Prep, Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3, Grade 4 and Grade 5 should now be completed. Students should be working on their Grade 6 page and have this completed by Sunday 17th November.
👜 GRADE 5 BUDDY BAGS
Students should now have in their Buddy Bags a toy/game, an activity book, an alphabet book, a purchased toy and a letter to their buddy. The final task of creating a name plate will be completed at school, once we know the names of our buddies. We will meet our buddies on Wednesday the 20th November. If students have not completed any of the previous homework tasks, it is imperative for them to do so as soon as possible.
👒 HATS ON
As of September 1st, we would like to remind you that our school adheres to the SunSmart policy set by the Victorian Government. All students are required to wear a broad-brimmed hat when outdoors from the 1st September when UV levels are typically higher.
Please ensure your child brings a hat to school every day to protect them from the sun's harmful rays.
Thank you for your support in keeping our school community safe and sun-smart.
