PERMA at BHPS

Transitioning

As we move toward the end of the school year, we are reminded of the many transitions and changes that await us, whether moving up a grade, changing classrooms, or saying goodbye to friends and teachers. This period can bring a mix of excitement and uncertainty for students, parents, and staff alike. To help everyone navigate these shifts, we encourage an approach grounded in kindness and understanding. Showing compassion to ourselves and each other can ease the emotional impact of change and foster a supportive environment where everyone feels valued.

In this spirit, we can embrace the principles of Positive Psychology, specifically the PERMA model: Positive Emotions, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, and Accomplishment. These elements are key to helping us thrive and find joy, even during times of transition. Also,  focussing on our unique character strengths enables us to deepen these elements and bring out the best in ourselves and others. https://wellbeingforprimaryschoolstudents.edublogs.org/

As students, parents, and teachers, we can recognise and celebrate strengths like kindness, hope, and teamwork, which enrich our lives and help us navigate transitions with confidence. As we reflect on the year’s journey, let’s celebrate our accomplishments and the meaningful connections we've made. By focussing on what brings us joy, staying engaged in our activities, building supportive relationships, and finding purpose in our roles, we end the year not only with new knowledge and skills but also with a greater sense of purpose and joy.
