There are currently a very large number of unexplained absences which do need to be addressed as soon as possible.
Can we please request that you take the time to review your Childs attendance on Compass and update the reasons for the unexplained absence.
If you are having any difficulties in doing this, please feel free to email the office on barwon.heads.ps@education.vic.gov.au and we will make the necessary adjustments for you.
To further assist with us with attendance, could we please ask the following.
It is possible that absences may have been inadvertently recorded on dates when students were involved in school activities (e.g.: sport days). Please indicate if this is the case and we will rectify our records. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
The School Saving Bonus for Government school students can be accessed via the School Saving Bonus online system in November 2024.
Families can choose how they spend the School Saving Bonus. It can be used towards 2025 school costs, which may include:
The School Saving Bonus will be emailed directly to parents and carers in November 2024. Please check your junk folder if you cannot locate the email. If you do not receive information by 25 November 2024, please contact your school for support.
Families can allocate all or part of the bonus to help with the cost of school activities. This allocation will be made within the online system.
The bonus can also be used at your school’s designated textbook or uniform suppliers in-store or online, or through State Schools’ Relief until 30 June 2025.
If your school does not have a uniform, or if you would like to use your bonus for unbranded school uniform items, you can use the bonus through the State Schools' Relief.
If any amount allocated to textbooks or uniforms is unspent as at 1 July 2025, it will become a school activities credit for you to use through your school.
It is estimated that 2.5 billion people throughout the world suffer from uncorrected poor vision which a basic pair of spectacles could remedy. Your child could be one of those people. Deakin University’s School of Medicine (Optometry program), is providing vision screenings to students from Grade Prep to Grade 2.
Consent forms were distributed to your child's class this week. If you would like your child to take advantage of the vision screening program, please sign the consent form at the bottom of the page (there is also a question on the back page) and return to your class teacher or the office by no later than Friday 15/11/2024.
Parents, can we please ask that you clearly label all uniform items to assist in lost property finding its way back to the correct owner.
Just a reminder that lost property is located in the blue tubs and you are welcome to check at any time to locate lost property.
