Year 1 Update
Our Learning -Term 4, Weeks 5 & 6
Year 1 students will be undertaking learning in the following areas over the next 2 weeks:
Reading | Students continue to engage in literacy activities using the Little Learners Love Literacy program. We are revising the sounds we learnt last term as well as the soft and hard c and g sounds and silent letters. The students will also be completing reading assessments with their teachers. |
Writing | Our writing is persuasive, learning about using strong words and forming strong opinions through cause and effect, and then looking at rhyming and poems. The students will also be able to choose their own genre for a piece of writing in their free writing session. |
Maths | Students are exploring 3D objects, location, and positional language and revisiting place value. |
Inquiry | Students are enjoying learning about the farm-to-fork topic. They will be exploring the 5 food groups, specifically fruit. |
SEL | Students are engaging in learning activities about how to cope with worry and change. |
