Our Learning -Term 4, Weeks 5 & 6

Year 1 students will be undertaking learning in the following areas over the next 2 weeks:

ReadingStudents continue to engage in literacy activities using the Little Learners Love Literacy program. We are revising the sounds we learnt last term as well as the soft and hard c and g sounds and silent letters. The students will also be completing reading assessments with their teachers.
Writing Our writing is persuasive, learning about using strong words and forming strong opinions through cause and effect, and then looking at rhyming and poems. The students will also be able to choose their own genre for a piece of writing in their free writing session.
MathsStudents are exploring 3D objects, location, and positional language and revisiting place value.
InquiryStudents are enjoying learning about the farm-to-fork topic. They will be exploring the 5 food groups, specifically fruit.
SELStudents are engaging in learning activities about how to cope with worry and change.

 REMINDERS

HATS: Students will be required to wear their hats. Please check if your child has their named hat at school. Students without hats are required to stay in an undercover area for sun protection.

Please complete the Big Goose Excursion payment and consent form on Compass for our farm excursion on Thursday 5th December. The students are very excited about our visit to the farm. More information will be provided closer to the event.
