In our Garden
Busy in Term 4
Our grades have been busy so far this term with lots of spring seeds and seedlings to plant. We have also been pulling out the greens of early spring which have bolted to seed in the warmer weather. The Garden Minions had quite a challenge with this one! A big bonus for our chickens. Speaking of chickens... please read the next heading below.
We Don't Eat Plastic!!
A Reminder to all students that we don't put plastics in our chook food buckets, or drop it in the yard. Waste plastics are bad for our chickens and the environment!
Look After Me! No Plastic!!
Students Finish Garden CoLab
The three week program for 1/2 S was a great success, students were animated and enthused during the activities and produced some beautiful work.. Activities included Nature scavenger hunt, Flower collage, Design a chook pen, What do worms like, and much more. Our students said they liked "lots of joyful games and different things to do" "the people were kind and fun to work with", "they were funny and l loved the drawing" "I loved catching bugs"
Here's some photos of them in action.
We concluded our sessions with presentations from each group, our students summarising their activities and what they learnt.
We Still Need Weeders!! Do you have time to come and help in our garden? We could use some extra hands to assist during gardening sessions and at other times too. Our garden is beautiful and we all love it, and want it to be well cared for, that means we need your help!
If you have some time to spare, please let us know. Thank you!
Happy Gardening
