Hello, from Carolyn.

Respect, responsibility and kindness

Hello everyone,

Country and Belonging residency program.

This week, our Grade 3/4 students and some of our student leaders enjoyed a visit to the Bendigo Gallery. At the gallery, we met Annie Brigdale, First Nations Learning Officer and learnt more about what an acknowledgement of Country means. As a group, we discussed what a connection to Country means for each of us and what we enjoy about where we live. We also discussed art works in the 'Living Connections' exhibition and the different ways artists are showing their connection to place. Our students then created their own pieces of art.

I am looking forward to seeing the Country and Belonging exhibition the Arena artists are creating with our students. It will be held in our library on Thursday 21st November, the final day of the residency. There will be an exhibition in our school library of the works that have been created by the students. The exhibition will be open during the day and after school until approx. 3:30pm.

Class Placement requests.

A reminder about our  Class Placement Policy that outlines the process of how to submit any requests you would like us to consider. Please let me know if you would like the "Parent input' form emailed to you. Forms need to be returned to me by 11th November and requests cannot be made for certain teachers.

We have been notified that there will be footpath works commencing next week in Webster St between Old Violet St and Don St.

Have a great weekend everyone.

warm regards,

Carolyn.
