IMPORTANT FEE STRUCTURE INFORMATION FOR 2025

As the school is now under the governance of MACS, school fees are determined using a system wide formula.  This formula takes into account each school’s loans, current building projects and the school’s allocated DMI index.  Below are the calculated School Fees for St John’s for 2025, which are inline with this new model.  The model includes a Capital Levy which  assists schools with the repayment of any current building loans.  St John’s is currently in Stage 4 of our building program and as such we fall under the category requiring a Capital Levy.  Please be assured that St John’s has tried to minimise the impact these changes will have on household budgets.  Families with a current Government Health Care Card are reminded that they are eligible for concessions to the Family Tuition Fee.

Family Tuition Fee - $1840 per family

Student Levy - $400 per student

Capital Levy - $100 per family

Parish Stewardship Program - Our parish of St Andrew’s Werribee encourages a family contribution of $260 per family

PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS

Parent Teacher Interviews conclude tonight.  These sessions have provided us with a valuable opportunity to communicate with families and discuss each child’s progress.  The next scheduled update of student progress will be our Semester 2 Reports, which families will receive mid December.

PREP 2025 TRANSITION SESSIONS

Below are the times and dates for the three transition sessions scheduled for next year's Prep students to attend.  Families will be emailed session times prior to Monday 28th October.  Parents please be aware that nonattendance at these Orientation sessions by a student may jeopardise their enrolment in Prep next year.

9:30-11:00 OR 12:00-1:30

Session Two

Monday 11th November

9:30-11:00

Please Note we ask parent to stay onsite to attend a Parent Meeting

2025 ENROLMENT INTENTIONS

Planning for the 2025 school year has begun and this process is quite complex and reliant on accurate and up to date information.  Families will have received an Operoo Notification during August regarding your child’s re enrolment for next year.  We ask any families who are considering moving house or changing their child’s school in 2025, to contact the office.  Please be assured that should your plans change, it will in no way affect your child’s placement for next year.

2025 CLASS GROUPING REQUESTS

Early in Term 4 staff will begin the process of allocating students to a class for 2025.  This is always complex with many factors coming into play and decisions are never made lightly.  If you feel you have information which would assist us when planning class groupings for next year, please note that all requests must be in writing to the Principal by Friday 18th October.  Parents are reminded that they are unable to request a specific teacher for their child.  While all submissions will be considered, families need to be aware we cannot guarantee we will be able to accommodate your request.

MACSIS ANNUAL SURVEYS

Each year all catholic school’s survey students, parents and staff. The data collected through the survey process provides us with valuable feedback and guides the school’s future direction.  Students from Year 4-6 have completed an online survey. A reminder to the families who have received a link to the survey, that surveys need to be completed prior to Friday 20th September.  The selected families had their survey log in details emailed on Monday 2nd September, please call the office if you have any issues accessing your survey.

YEAR 5 & 6 CAMP

The Year 5 & 6 teachers are in the final stages of organising Camp, which will take place over two days, Thursday 7th and Friday 8th November.  This year the students will be participating in an Adventure Camp, where they will have the opportunity to experience a range of outdoor activities.  St John’s Senior students attended a camp at this location in 2022 and had a great time.   We will be holding a Parent Information Session on Thursday 24th October @ 4:00pm, this meeting will be live streamed for any parents unable to attend in person.  At this meeting we will outline the camp itinerary and discuss items students will need to pack.

2024 YEAR 5 & 6 CAMP PAYMENTS

We are asking families to cover the first $200 of the camp costs, with the school covering any costs above this.  A reminder to families that payments were due this week and that Camp Fees are not part of the Direct Debit Payment Plan.

Current Health Care Card holders are eligible each year for support with the cost of school excursions and camps (CSEF).  Families with money still available in their CSEF account will have a reduced payment amount due. Camp payments can be  made at the office or via credit card over the phone.
