Student Learning

Foundation

Foundation students have been learning about simile poems and drafted, then produced a final copy of a rainbow poem.

Students have also been learning about rhyming words and have been using their rhyming words to write poems.

During Maths students have been learning about sharing to help their understanding of division. They used the unifix blocks and then a teddys bears picnic activity sheet to help them understand.

Year 1/2

Reading: As part of our Book Week celebrations, we enjoyed reading four of the shortlisted books. Following the readings, the students completed a fun and creative craft activity inspired by the stories.

Writing: The students were thrilled to have their parent/guardian join us in the classroom to showcase their poetry folders, marking the completion of our poetry unit.

Maths: The students have been learning the correct vocabulary for giving directions. They had a lot of fun playing mapping games to practice this new language.

Excursion: The bus was filled with excitement on our excursion to The Cube Wodonga to watch The Flying Fruit Fly Circus. The students were captivated as the performers showcased there acrobatic tricks. Afterwards, they enjoyed lunch and a play in the park.

Book Week: A highlight on the calendar year is Book Week. We love seeing the students transform into their favourite characters as we come together to celebrate the joy of reading.
