Principal's Update
Athletics Carnival
What a nice day mother nature is putting on for us tomorrow! With a forecast of 30 degrees for our annual Athletics Carnival it should be a superb day. Families are invited to attend the carnival and cheer on all the students. Mr Lovett has even organised a coffee van for the adults! All students will compete in events based on their age, with the day culminating in our sprint finals and the CPS Gift!
Parent/Teacher Interviews
Next Thursday, 12th September, is our Parent/Teacher Interviews, with bookings now available through Compass. If the available times are not suitable, you can contact the school to arrange an alternative time/day. I encourage all parents to book a time with your child(s) classroom teacher to discuss their progress so far, discuss any concerns there may be, what you can do to help at home and to celebrate their successes! Face to face and phone interviews will be available. If you would like a phone interview please email cobram.ps@education.vic.gov.au with your child's name, class, interview time booked and contact phone number by 4pm Wednesday 11th September. If you need assistance with booking a time please contact the office.
R U OK? Day
Thursday 12th September is also R U OK? Day. On this day we invite all students to wear a yellow item in support of R U OK? Day and foster understanding about making sure other people are ok.
R U OK? Day is a national day to inspire and empower everyone to meaningfully connect with the people around them and start a conversation with those in their world who may be struggling with life. You don't need to be an expert to reach out - just a good friend and a great listener.
Use these four steps and have a conversation that could change a life:
- Ask R U OK?
- Listen
- Encourage action
- Check in
Fathers Day
Last Friday we held our annual Fathers Day Breakfast. I hope all our families enjoyed the morning! I would like to thank staff for coming in early to help set up, cook and serve breakfast to our families! A thank you also to our P&F members, who work tirelessly behind the scenes, for running the Fathers Day Stall. This allows our students to pick out and purchase a special gift, encouraging independence and responsibility, and ensuring a surprise for their special person.
Have a great week!
