A final word
When I stepped into this role as a volunteer 10 years ago, I discovered a passion not only for the sport that has been a part of my life since I was a child, but also for the players, coaches, umpires and the netball community. I am so grateful to the players and families of this Club for trusting me with their netball journey and allowing me the room to grow this Club into the biggest club at PNA.
I believe team sport for girls and young women is good for both their physical and mental health. It teaches so much more than just how to play a game. I love that our Club is a place for all players. That our social teams are given as much love and support as our top teams. We champion not only the best players but all of our players. Our values and ethos are built around kindness and support of our teammates when they are having a bad day which is more important than winning a game. Netball is a true team sport, it takes the whole team, on and off the court to be successful. But success isn’t always winning pennants; it’s the valuable life lessons we learned along the way. These are lessons that our players can take with them wherever their journey takes them. Lessons I will take with me into my next chapter.
To plagiarise a quote from Ted Lasso:
Netball is life.
Well, it’s my life. Thanks for being a part of my netball journey.
