VICTORIAN SCHOOLS FESTIVAL OF MUSIC

After our Strings Orchestra, Stage Band and Concert Band took Platinum, Silver and Gold respectively, our Symphonic band then went on to take a Gold award last week. Lead by Mr. Muddyman, the band performed a beautiful set of pieces for the adjudicators and an audience made up of other schools from throughout the state. We are very pleased with not only the result, but extremely proud of how the students performed and conducted themselves on the day. 

THE ANNUAL SPRING CONCERT

This week we held our annual spring Concert over two wonderful nights, once again, to sell out audiences. This is the final formal concert for the year and there was a bittersweet feeling of nostalgia and celebration for the final performances of our year 12 students. Many of whom have contributed to our program over the last 6 years. 

Wednesday night saw the Stage Bands, the Choirs, the Drum Clubs, Celtic Ensemble and the Guitar groups perform and on Thursday evening, we showcased our Strings Orchestras and our Concert, Rookie and Symphonic Bands. 

An enjoyable time was had by all, and we express our thanks and gratitude to all parents and college community who came along to support our students in their musical endeavours, your support at these events is hugely appreciated. 

FAREWELL YEAR 12's

We'd like to acknowledge and say farewell to the Year 12 students in our Program. 

To continue learning an instrument and being involved in weekly rehearsals, excursions and concerts amidst their intense study regimes is an effort well deserving of the highest praise. 

While their presence, both in our bands and in the music centre, is always greatly missed come November, we say farewell with a lightness, knowing that these students are moving into the next chapter of their lives, having built a wonderful foundation of joyful dedication, work ethic and creativity and that the memories they have formed over these treasured years at Vermont will be positive ones.
