HSIE

Year 7

This term our Year 7 historians embarked on an adventure investigating the ancient past. They honed their history skills by learning about chronology, creating timelines, and understanding the nature of historical sources. We also delved into the fascinating world of archaeology, uncovering the secrets of Ancient Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artefacts. It has been  a term full of discovery and hands-on learning, including recreating an archaeological dig on a choc chip cookie.

Year 8

In Year 8 History, students have  explored who the Vikings were, their origins, and travels. Students learned about the social structure, daily life, viking Warriors, and religion. Hands-on activities included creating origami Viking longships and playing Kubb, fostered  teamwork and creativity.

Year 9 and 10 Commerce

This term, students have been studying the topic Law, Society, and Political Involvement. The students explored the makeup of the Australian government and learned how laws are made. They even participated in a fun and educational role play of how a bill is passed. This hands-on activity really brought the legislative process to life.

Year 11 Legal Studies

On Tuesday 13 August, Year 11 Legal Studies students spent the day at Wagga Courthouse observing the proceedings in Local Court. This supported what the students have been learning about the operation of the court system as well as the personnel involved.
