Year 12 Graduation Mass

On Wednesday, September 25, we celebrated the Graduation Mass with our Year 12 class of 2024. The event included a heartfelt Mass and an Academic Awards Ceremony, which marked the culmination of their 13-year journey. We are filled with pride as we highlight their remarkable achievements and significant contributions to the College community, a journey that has been nothing short of inspiring.

Fr. Grace presided over the Mass, with Seminarian Patrick Drum assisting. The event was graced by the presence of parents, grandparents, staff, and Year 11 students, all of whom played a crucial role in the students' journey. We were also honored to have distinguished guests, including representatives from the Presentation Sisters and the Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga, who added to the sense of community and support.

The theme of the Mass was "You are like a light for the whole world," which resonated with the students as they prepared for their next chapter after their HSC next term. During the Opening procession, students brought forward symbols representing their academic, sporting, cultural, and artistic pursuits at Mater Dei.

At the end of the Mass, each Year 12 student came forward in their Houses to receive a House Candle. As the beautiful music "Go Light Your World" played, each student was reminded to carry Christ's light for the world in their hearts, minds, and hands. Fr. Grace then blessed the graduates before they led the closing procession.

We are very proud of the 2024 cohort and wish them every success and blessing for their HSC and the journey beyond school. Mater Dei Catholic College will always hold a special place in their hearts, and we will continue to pray for them.
