Visual Arts
Year 8
Visual Arts students have been focusing on the artmaking practice of landscapes. They have explored the tradition of the outdoors and produced an artwork which was inspired by a place or space they had encountered. Students are now investigating the idea of the imagination, or, the inner world where they are producing imagined and surreal artworks. This is also backed up by artists' students and reflective writing about their own artworks.
Year 9
Artists Practice students are currently exploring their own practice and developing a site-specific series of collaborative artworks to decorate the outdoor learning space in the art areas with the building of kinetic sculptures to come.
Year 10
Students are exploring artists' practice and the process of developing and documenting a body of work. They have explored a range of artists, who complement their own style and techniques and are constructing a range of artworks in such things as sculpture, painting, resin jewellery and graphic design to name a few.
Year 11
Students in Year 11 are currently undertaking their end-of-preliminary examinations, prior to this they have been investigating and examining artists and art movements ranging from the Modernist movement through to the Postmodern and Contemporary art space. In addition to this students have begun to develop skills and processes to initiate and create their own minor body of work which will put them in good stead for their approaching HSC studies commencing in Term 4.
Year 12
Visual Artists have completed and submitted their amazing artworks, in a body of work, with some outstanding results. The individual skill level and achievement has been wonderful to see and they have worked hard on developing concepts and their artworks which tell their story. Students are now focusing their efforts on preparing for the upcoming HSC exam and are currently revising their work, concepts and artists studied over the past year. Good luck Year 12.
