Excursions

From the Francis Greenway High School Excursion Policy:

Francis Greenway High School has an expectation of sustained commitment to learning, student behaviour aligning with PBL core values and regular attendance. Regular attendance of more than 80% is required for consideration to attend excursions and events external to school. Francis Greenway aligns student behaviour with the four core values of: respect, responsibility, commitment and cooperation. Students must consistently demonstrate all four values.

Students who do not meet all the above expectations and/or their behaviour poses an unmanageable risk to the safety of themselves or others may be excluded from attending excursions or external events. These students will have the opportunity to submit an application for inclusion. The school senior executive will assess each application on its own merit and will make the final decision. A form is available through School Bytes for parents and students to complete and will be sent to the senior executive. Senior Executive staff can provide this form to parents on request.

Is your child ready to learn every day?

Preparedness for learning starts the night before the school day begins. Students need a good night's sleep and to be organised with the required equipment to actively participate in all learning activities, including Sport and Movement lessons. This means ensuring that the school uniform is ready to go, books and pens are packed, laptops are fully charged and students have breakfast before arriving on time, or access Breakfast Club.

Uniform

Francis Greenway High School is a proud uniform school. At FGHS, our school uniform is more than just a dress code – it represents unity, pride, and a shared commitment to our school values - respect, responsibility, commitment, cooperation. Wearing a uniform creates a sense of belonging and helps students focus on what really matters: their learning, friendships, and personal growth. It reduces distractions, creates a level playing field, and allows our school community to identify as part of a team. When students wear the uniform, they are representing our school’s values and demonstrating pride in our community.

We are grateful to our students who proudly wear their uniform every day and set a positive example for their peers. This commitment strengthens our school culture and sets a tone of respect and responsibility within our community.

The wearing of slides or crocs is not part of the FGHS uniform and is a Work Health and Safety issue. If students arrive at school wearing slides or out of uniform, they will be provided with pre-loved shoes/shirt/shorts (if the correct size is available), or their parent/carer will be asked to bring the correct shoes/shirt/shorts, or they will be sent home.

If you need assistance with your child's uniform, please contact the relevant deputy principal.
