As we finish of the year, it’s important to look back at what has been accomplished throughout the year.
Tournament of the Minds
Starting way back in term 1, the Francis Greenway High School team has been working hard representing the school in the Tournament of the Minds.
Held at Newcastle Grammar School on the 8th of September on a Sunday.
The teams had to participate in two challenges: a prepared challenge, and the other a spontaneous challenge. They competed against schools from all across the region. Parents came along to support their children and they presented their responses to the challengers in a very mature manner and had a good time doing it.
HSC Study Champions
As most people would know, the HSC examinations occurred during term 4. As the graduating class of 2024 give their best efforts towards the culmination of their many years in education, we would like to acknowledge the effort put forward by the many students turning up for study sessions with their Maths teachers over the holidays. We are all cheering for you in the long wait for the results to be released!
Year 11 Numeracy Planter Box Building
Students in Year 11 Numeracy worked on designing for, assembling and budgeting around the creation of individual planter boxes.
For some students it was a flex of their skills with practical applications of numeracy. For others it was a push outside of their comfort zone. They turned out amazing.
