Group 1

Transport Theme for Term 3 has been exciting and engaging for our active learners. They had fun playing with different transport toys during choice play, whilst working on their social and communication skills in terms of requesting for their choice toy either verbally or using photos of the actual transports, turn-taking, waiting and sharing. They have become more aware and cooperative of sharing and waiting for their turn which is amazing progress for each of them. They have also enjoyed our transport songs at group circle time particularly the ABC transport song which they would look forward to doing and pointing to each letter and the transport it represents. Another favourite for this term’s transport activity is our transport interactive story time where they get to watch different transports and listen to the sound they make. They have all done an amazing job being able to sit and listen for the stories and make guesses on which vehicle is on the move.

This term we have also started on our whole-class activities for Design and Technologies. We’ve kicked off with making our own playdough which they also got to play with for sensory play using different shape cutters. Fairy Bread Making is a big hit! They have done so well gathering the materials and ingredients using photos of the actual material/ingredient and making their own fairy bread. The best part of it for most of them is eating time, which is a very good way for them to learn to create a design or make something that they can safely consume or use.
