As we come towards the end of the 2023 school year it is a chance to reflect on many amazing achievements throughout the year. We have been excited to continue to engage in school and community based events and we look forward to planning for 2024 and continuing to focus on our school goals. The Department of Education continues to support the following goals through Teaching and Learning and Engagement and Wellbeing in 2024 and we will share a summary of our Annual Implementation Plan and Goals following our initial school council meeting of 2024:
- Teaching & Learning - Support both those who need scaffolding and those who have thrived to continue to extend their learning, especially in numeracy.
- Engagement & Wellbeing - Effectively provide available resources to support students' wellbeing and mental health, especially the most vulnerable.
It takes so much work behind the scenes to allow Surfside to operate on a daily basis and we are always thankful to those who make Surfside Primary School such a special place to be. The thought, care and dedication that goes into every day at Surfside is remarkable and on behalf of Surfside we would like to thank:
- Mrs Giggins and Mrs Patterson for their continued support of our students, staff and community.
- Our leadership team throughout 2023 of Mrs Patterson, Mrs Charleston, Mr Chapman, Gill and Kellie and all of our year level unit leaders for your guidance and dedication to our teaching, learning, engagement and wellbeing program at Surfside.
- Our administration team of Ebony, Vicki and Kerry for their helping hands and positive vibe.
- To our classroom teachers, specialists, tutors, education support staff, kitchen and garden specialists, CRT's and all who have walked through our doors to support each and every student each and every day.
- To Julie, our parent helpers and our senior students who assisted in the canteen.
- To Damian and Terry for their maintenance and grounds work and our cleaner Adam who keep our school looking clean as well as safe.
- To Kathy our Surfside crossing guard and our community crossing guards for protecting our students and keeping them safe.
- Sarah and the team from Camp Australia for providing support and care for our families.
- Emily our IT support technician for keeping our school connected on and off site.
- Our pre service teachers, Deakin program supporters, Deakin OT students and all of our Student Support Services for their continued support of our students.
