National History Challenge

In October two of our students. Audriana Phan (10E2) & Adhyan Kathpal(9E1) have both been awarded top 3 accolades in the state in the National History Challenge.

Each of them received Silver certificates and will be progressing to National judging.

The National History Challenge is a research-based competition where students explore a topic of their choosing - in line with this year's theme of 'Continuity & Change.'

Audriana wrote eloquently about 'The impact of Vietnamese Boat People on the evolution of Australia,' while Adhyan explored 'Cricket's Evolution: The dynamic confluence of endurance and change.'

Brentwood Community Street Library

The library staff and Library Monitors are very pleased to announce that the Brentwood Community Street Library is now registered and installed at the Watsons Rd entrance to the school.

The Street Library was built by the 2022 Yr 11 woodwork students, decorated by the 2023 Yr 11 art students, and is being stocked and maintained by the Library Monitors and the Green Team.

The Street Library is accessible to all and is an invitation to share the joys of reading with our school and local community. Books come and go; no one needs to check them in or out. People can simply reach in and take what interests them; when they are done, they can return the book to the Street Library, or pass them onto friends.

Our hope is that one day, someone with no books in their house will pass by our Street Library and discover a new world of opportunities. They are a symbol of trust and hope - a tiny vestibule of literary happiness. We hope it brings you joy.
