AROUND THE COLLEGE
Primary School Visitors
On Friday the 1st of December, eighty-seven year one and two students from Hamlyn Banks Primary School came for a dinosaur-themed visit to Western Heights College. They were led on a tour of the school, did some group reading of some dinosaur books, ate some delicious ham and cheese rolls from the canteen, and watched the movie The Land Before Time. The kids really enjoyed their visit and loved looking around the whole college, especially the science labs! Thanks to everyone who helped to organise the day, especially Ms Choong and the staff from Hamlyn Banks, we hope to see you back next year!

Last Friday, 87 children from Hamlyn Banks had an excursion at Western Heights, with the theme of dinosaurs. The day started with a tour of the entire school and going into classrooms to show the kids what a class is like here as well as looking at the other facilities the school offers.
After wrapping this up, we headed back to the library. Ash read a book to the kids first, then I read them a second. Afterwards, the kids were able to do a variety of activities before snack: Lego, puzzles, and colouring a dinosaur mask.
After snack we all went down to the Blue Building to watch the movie “The Land Before Time” and have some lunch. Everyone enjoyed it. Then the kids did a quiz about dinosaurs and went back to Hamlyn Banks.
All in all, there was fun from both sides, but it wasn’t without some hiccups - as always time proved to be in issue, but nevertheless we still prevailed.
