VOCABULARY

Graphic text: A book that combines visuals with written text.

 

Illustrator: A person who draws or creates pictures  for a text. 

 


ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Read a fiction book with your child, get them to identify the features of the text. Ask them who the author is. Get them to identify elements from the text that demonstrate the writer’s style. Critique whether the writer’s style is effective in engaging the reader. Justify with evidence from the text.
