Art Display at Narre Warren Police Station

Oatlands Primary School was lucky enough to be asked by the Narre Warren Police Station to create some artwork, to display in their foyer.

Our Grade 1 and 2 students looked at different environments in our community: water, earth and bush.  They then looked at the work of Bronwyn Bancroft, who is a proud Bundajalung woman and artist whose illustrations have been used in books, fashion and in many art exhibitions.  Students were then given a range of materials to create their own representation of one of these environments. The students took inspiration from Bronwyn's work by using line and colour to represent the different areas.

Our Grade 3 students created a collage using paper and paint.  They looked at different Emergency Service workers and their uniforms.  Then using the materials they painted and collaged themselves into these special uniforms.  Students also discussed that these workers all work together to keep their community safe.

The artworks are on display in the foyer of the Narre Warren Police Station and families are welcome to visit the station to have a look at the display.
