Lutheran Care 12 Days of Giving

Thank you all for your donations. This year has been so successful we have arranged an early collection with Lutheran Care as we're running out of room to continue this important initiative! We are so proud of our school community coming together to help others in need, what a difference your kindness will make for many families doing it tough this Christmas.

Please keep an eye on our Facebook page where we'll provide updates each Saturday for the following week of items that are still low in the pantry.

While Lutheran Care are listing 12 different items to be collected over the 12 Days of Giving, we understand that some families may not be able to stretch their budget this far and we are grateful for any donations you are able to give.

Farewell Mrs King

On Wednesday we shared in a special farewell in chapel for Mrs. King. As her final day approaches tomorrow, Friday 24th November, we extend our heartfelt wishes to her and her husband as they share in the joyous journey of welcoming their new baby. We wish them all the best in this exciting chapter of their lives.

Spin Camp

Do you like camping and sharing time with other people who like to have fun? Here’s an idea! SPIN is a four-day, three-night, statewide camp in January for young people in years 4-6 (in 2023) to experience an inclusive and encouraging community and grow in relationship with Jesus and others.

This year’s theme is ‘Wanted’. Significant sponsorship is offered to first time campers by the LLL (You just pay $50). For those who have attended this camp before, Good Shepherd church offers a subsidy, just ask Georgie. The camp is held at Camp Kedron, Barmera (Riverland SA). For more information, contact Georgie here, then head to SPIN to register.

KAPS (Years 2-7) Younger siblings welcome

Our last KAPS event for this year is this Sunday 26th November, from 4pm to7pm (Please note extended time). We will be celebrating Christmas in November with activities, worship and a meal, so pop it in your diaries now!

Ignite (for young people in Years 7-12) is on at the same time. If you have older siblings or friends, please let them know! The more… the merrier! Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Coffee and Connect

What’s the highlight of your week?  How are you feeling at the moment? If you have a few minutes (or a lot of minutes) and you feel like meeting some people or reuniting with older friends, you are most welcome to pop into the Church Café tomorrow morning (Friday) 8:30am to 10am and share some tea/coffee and conversation!

Why not invite someone along this week? You never know how you might change someone’s day (for the better) just by turning up and having a chat! Please enter via the courtyard. Toddlers are welcome (there is a small playground for them to play in; we just ask that you keep an eye on them for safety reasons).  See you tomorrow!

Blessings,

Georgie

Friendly Faces 2024

Starting at a new school can be daunting, and for people new to the school environment this can be especially so.

To help our new Foundation families feel welcome as they begin their journeys with us in 2024, we are looking for parents who would like to become that ‘friendly face’ helping families around the school to find their way around, ease them into routines, and get to know our processes and events.

You would be ‘buddied’ with a new school family (or perhaps more than one family) and help them feel comfortable by doing things like:

  • A welcome phone call to the family prior to school starting.
  • Being a friendly face around the school to help them find their way around, ease into routines, and get to know our processes and events.
  • Acting as a resource for sharing information E.g. How to order food from the canteen or uniform questions.
  • Perhaps even organising a playdate.
  • Sitting with them at the school’s Welcome Party.

We need just 30 people to make this wonderful initiative happen.

To participate, please contact Georgie via email by Thursday 23rd November.

Further information regarding logistics will be shared with you once you have registered your interest.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon!

Blessings,

Georgie
