What is happening @ HTS in Week 7

It is a little bit quiet around the school this week with Year 6 and Year 10 away all week. During the remainder of the week Year 5, 4 and 3 will have their excursions which we hope are enjoyable.  We have begun full steam planning for the end of the year events so please check Compass for any consent required along with information in the newsletter regarding upcoming events.  I am especially looking forward to KD's Prayer Celebration on Friday at 9:15am at Sacred Heart Church.

Last Week @ HTS

It was great to spend time at our Year 10 final activities last week. The Lap-a-thon and the Secondary social demonstrated that students are creative and love to dress up and have some fun! The Year 10 final assembly reminded me of the important role teachers have in our students lives. Many students made mention of influential teachers in their time at Trinity. The importance of friendships in students lives is also significant and next year we will continue working on students ability to have positive relationships. Year 10 also recognised that it is through the difficult times that we grow and become more resilient...what a great lesson to know alreay as young adults!

Reminders:

2024 school fees must be paid by 1 December so all end of year financial matters can be completed.

Please make sure your child has food each day. We have many students coming without food and a water bottle which makes concentrating very difficult. No child goes without and we provide fruit and a toasted sandwich.

We have had reported cases of head lice. Please check and treat your child's hair if they have headlice to help stop the spread. We have also had a report of scabies.

Scabies is highly contagious and is passed from person to person through close skin contact.  Infestation may also occur by sharing clothing towels, and bedding.  Symptoms usually appear two to six weeks after exposure. Children should be excluded from school until the day after appropriate treatment has started. Scabies are tiny mite creatures (bugs) that burrow under the skin causing intense itching and sometimes a rash. The rash is due to an allergic reaction to the mite.  Scabies tends to be worse around wrists, armpits, buttocks and the groin and between fingers and toes.  Scabies are easily treated with gentle scrubbing of the skin followed by drying and applying permethrin cream or lotion that you can buy from pharmacies.  People who have had close contact with an infected child should be examined for infestation and be treated if necessary.  Wash linen, towels and clothing worn in the past 2 days in hot water and detergent.

Have a good week!
