Dear Parents

Our Schools Spectacular children left for Sydney at 4.30am on Wednesday morning after months of preparation. We know they will have an incredible time. Mrs McClements, Miss Solinas and Mrs Cafe have accompanied the children on this excursion, and everyone will not return home until after the final concert on Saturday night. Thank you to the Schools Spectacular parents who have been extremely supportive. They have assisted to raise funds at the School Disco, Cookie Dough selling and operating a BBQ at the Harness Racing Club on the weekend. Thank you to all the parents for the additional hours they have spent raising funds. A special mention to Mark Skein who coordinated the BBQ and drove the bus to Sydney on Wednesday morning. It is wonderful that our school has such tremendous support.

The Year 6 Mini Fete was a huge success last week. The variety of activities was outstanding, and the children had a terrific time. It was also wonderful to see so many parents come along and support the day. Year 6 raised $3249.50 from the Mini Fete. They are now deciding what gift for the school they will purchase with these funds. Thank you again, Year 6, for a job well done.

Congratulations to Alex Sverdloff, who received a Shining Star award in the Bathurst School's Poetry Competition with his poem "Bees". We are super proud of Alex and his thoughtful poem.

Our school also won an award and a book for the library for successfully contributing a host of poems that delighted the Bathurst Poetry Competition organisers. Thank you to Mrs Rutherford for her work with the children writing poetry.

Groups and times for our School Swimming Program have now been allocated and notes sent home with all children involved last week. Swimming commences on Monday, 27th November. If your child is involved with School Swimming, please ensure they bring a towel, swimmers, goggles, swimming cap (only if they use one) and a change of underwear in a separate bag to their school bag (plastic bag or old back pack) . Please ensure all items have your child's name clearly labelled. If you need any additional information or assistance, please contact the school office.

I thank the many parents who attended our Stage 2 and Stage 3 Assembly on Wednesday afternoon for their patience. We had to cancel the assembly due to the heavy rain we received and it not being safe to move the children from the classrooms to the hall during the storm. Our cancelled Stage 2 and Stage 3 Assembly has been rescheduled for Monday, 27th November at 2pm in the McMullen Hall.

Next Friday, 1/12/23, our School Uniform Clothing pool will reopen from 2pm-3pm. The P&C have been working hard with working bees sorting clothes, cleaning and having all of the uniform laundered. Items of school uniform will be available from $2. Please pop in between 2pm-3pm next Friday, 1st December to take advantage of the enormous range of school uniform available.

Teachers are currently finalising Semester 2 reports. It has been pleasing to see the academic growth made by all children. Semester 2 reports will be sent home with children on Friday, 8th December. If any parent would like to meet with their child's classroom teacher to discuss their child's progress, please contact the office to make an appointment.

If any parent has concerns regarding any aspect of school life, please do not hesitate to contact me.
