YEAR 9 ICT: TERM 1
Students in Year 9 ICT this term have been learning how to use Adobe Photoshop to create images suitable for use on websites. Students will be making their own using Dreamweaver later in this unit.
Here is what some of the students have said about 9 ICT so far:
I chose ICT for my Year 9 electives, and I am enjoying it so far!
We learned numerous ways to use Photoshop, like producing our collage banner, blending multiple images, and more. I was curious about being able to illustrate frames, eventually constructing my own animated GIF!
The Photoshop Folio Assessment included the first three things we learnt: to design a collage banner, an animated GIF and masking images in any theme we desired. I look forward to the upcoming lessons in the ICT class.

I enjoyed learning Photoshop in ICT class. Mr Russo taught us a lot of the essentials, as well as a few advanced things. We did many things, from creating simple drawings and blending images to even making entire animations and exporting them as GIF files.
The class was fun and well-balanced. In the folio learning task, you are free and encouraged to unleash your creativity and do whatever you want. I enjoyed this unit because you have endless possibilities. If you enjoy working with technology and/or visual arts, choose ICT for your elective!

In our recent ICT lessons, we delved into creative digital skills by working on an Adobe Photoshop project. We combined two photographs, made a gif, and designed a banner. In addition to improving our technical skills, this practical experience let us explore our creative side. We learned about layering and animation via navigating Photoshop. The tasks encouraged experimentation and developed our understanding of the adaptability of digital media. Overall, it was a remarkable insight into digital works and technologies.

This term for Year 9 ICT, we learned how to use Photoshop, a raster graphics editor developed by Adobe. Throughout the course, we developed various skills like animating a gif, making collage banners and blending two images using masks. These skills were then applied to our Photoshop Folio Assessment, which we completed last week.
I enjoyed making the collage banner and was surprised by how easy it was to create something unique in minutes! Each click of the mouse felt like unlocking a new realm of possibilities, and with each component in this unit, my passion for digital artistry soared to new heights. One of the skills I developed this term was my animation skills, which proved challenging and rewarding despite the complexity of the creation process and the numerous steps involved. I preserved and gained valuable insights. I applied those newfound skills to the assessment in which I produced a gif of a robot expressing various emotions.
Overall, my experience in ICT this term has been fantastic, and I look forward to learning more and enriching my knowledge in this field.

YEAR 10 INFORMATION SYSTEMS: TERM 1
Students in Information Systems this term have been learning how to convert decimal numbers into Binary and Hexadecimal - then being able to represent these in ASCII to represent all the characters on a keyboard. The topic we are currently working on is Algorithms, where students learn how to create sequences to help them with their coding by creating flowcharts and Pseudocode.
Here is what Austin Martinello have said about 10ISY so far:
So far in Information Systems, we have completed two learning tasks, one about binary and hexadecimal and the other about flowcharts. We learnt how to convert from decimal numbers to hex and back again for binary. For example, we could create and decipher hidden messages through this method. For flowcharts, we have learned about the processes and procedures required to make one. With this, we could create fairy bread from our partners' instructions, regardless of how good it was at instructing them to.
