Wii Gaay Learning Hub 2023

On Monday 13th November Sienna Thompson and I had the privilege to travel to Lake Keepit with 25 other students, AEAs, teachers, Mrs Tighe and Mrs Pederson from the Armidale Diocese. The Wii Gaay learning hub consists of 3 learning rotations: Literacy, Mathematics and IT.

The theme for Wii Gaay was Connected to Country.  We got to talk to a local elder Uncle Len Walters who taught us dreaming stories about the stars. We also met Aboriginal rangers and Aboriginal workers from the Opportunity Hub.  The kids were lucky to do some fishing, the mud run and they started drawing their journeys on possum skin. We had so much fun.

Miss Allan

Wii Gaay was so much fun because we had a disco on Thursday night and doing our journey on possum skins was so interesting. Uncle Len Walters mesmerized us with dreaming stories about the stars. We went fishing and I almost caught my first fish. Going through the mud run was hard, I am so glad we had teams because we helped each other.

Attendance

This is a timely reminder to parents that it is a legal requirement that absences are explained within 7 days on Compass.  It really can't be any easier than to log onto the app and put in an explanation.  Notes have been sent out once again to be filled in and returned to school this week as we try to reign in our 42 outstanding absences.

Compass

Please remember that if you change your phone number or address you need to update this either through your Compass portal or we can do it for you if you send an email to quiadmin@arm.catholic.edu.au

Library

If you have not sent through your details to the office we would very much appreciate it if you could make it a priority.

School Fees

Term 4 school fees have been processed by the Catholic Schools Office, Armidale.  In Compass through the Parent Portal you can see all your transactions on your account.  Keep up to date with your school fees by setting up regular payments through BPAY.
