Principal's Patch

Please Welcome our New Staff to Palm Beach

This term we are extremely lucky to have some new staff at our school. I know you will make them feel very welcome to our school community.

Head of Inclusion – Mrs Claire Caple

We are delighted to introduce Mrs. Claire Caple as the new Head of Inclusion at Palm Beach State School. Claire joins us with extensive experience, having worked for many years at Mable Park SHS in Logan and most recently at Coombabah SHS. She is passionate about creating inclusive learning environments and ensuring every student has the support they need to succeed. Claire’s expertise and commitment to fostering an environment where all students feel valued and empowered will be a great asset to our school. We are excited to have Claire as a part of our team and look forward to the positive contributions she will make in enhancing our inclusive practices. Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Caple to our school community!

Chappy Sophie

We are thrilled to welcome Chappy Sophie to Palm Beach State School as our new school chaplain. Sophie comes with a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to supporting the emotional and spiritual well-being of our students and staff. We are confident that her warmth, compassion, and enthusiasm will be a wonderful addition to our school community. Chappy Sophie will be available to offer guidance, support, and a listening ear to students and families, and we look forward to the positive impact she will have on our school environment. Please join us in welcoming her to our Palm Beach family!

Palmy Power

We are excited to officially unveil our new name for all sporting teams—Palmy Power! This dynamic identity reflects the strength, resilience, and energy of our students, and we can’t wait to see it come to life on the field.

Alongside this exciting change, we are also thrilled to introduce our brand-new AFL uniforms, designed to showcase our school’s pride and athletic excellence. These are pictured below, finely modelled by Seb, Lennox and Alby.

We look forward to cheering on the Palmy Power as they represent our school with passion and pride!

Guidance Officer Week

This week we proudly celebrate Guidance Officer Week, and we’d like to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to Miss Nat, our incredible Guidance Officer here at Palm Beach SS. Her hard work, compassion, and dedication make a real difference in the lives of our students every day. Miss Nat supports our school community with care and commitment, and we are so grateful to have her as part of the Palm Beach team. Thank you, Miss Nat, for all that you do!

SAFETY MESSAGE - Dismounting bikes at the gate

This is a friendly reminder regarding an important safety measure we previously communicated. To ensure the well-being of all students, we ask that all students and parents dismount from their bikes, scooters before entering the school grounds.

We have noticed some students and parents still riding within the school premises, and we kindly remind everyone to follow this important safety rule. Additionally, when leaving the school, please do not ride bikes and scooters until outside the school gates and be extra cautious and aware of others, especially younger students when riding around the school grounds.

Kiss n Go

A friendly reminder to parents using the Kiss ’n’ Go zone: if your child is able to get into the car and buckle up independently, please remain in your vehicle. Getting out to assist with seatbelts in this area slows down traffic and causes frustration for others in the line. If your child needs help getting into their car seat, we kindly ask that you use the nearby parking spaces where you can take the time needed safely and without holding up others. Thank you for helping us keep Kiss ’n’ Go running smoothly for everyone.

Late payments

A gentle reminder to families that payments for excursions and school events must be made by the due date, as we are unable to accept late payments. We always provide plenty of notice through multiple communication channels, so we encourage parents to keep an eye out for these updates. It’s always disappointing when a student misses out due to a missed deadline, and we appreciate your help in ensuring every child has the opportunity to take part in these enriching experiences.

kind regards
