ATHLETICS CARNIVAL – A DAY OF FUN, COMPETITION & SCHOOL SPIRIT!
What a day! The Athletics Carnival was a huge success, and students across all year levels brought energy, enthusiasm, and incredible house spirit to every event.
From sprinting down the track to cheering on friends from the sidelines, students made the most of every opportunity to participate and show support for their house. The day was filled with laughter, determination, friendly competition—and, of course, plenty of fun!
A massive thank you goes out to all the staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the day possible. Whether they were officiating events, marshalling, supervising, scoring, or simply stepping in wherever help was needed, their support ensured everything ran smoothly for the students to enjoy.
The carnival was a true celebration of the school’s community spirit, and none of it would have been possible without the teamwork and positivity of students and staff alike. Well done to all students who participated—you made the day one to remember!
Congratulations YELLOW HOUSE, the winning house team for 2025
Year 8 Girls Netball Wednesday 26th March
The Year 8 girls took to the court for their first game against Truganina P-9 College, starting off with a slow first quarter as the team adjusted to a mix of abilities. In the second quarter, some key positional changes helped turn things around, and the girls found their rhythm. The second half saw a much stronger performance, but despite their efforts, they fell short with a final score of 16 - 7.
The second game against Walcom Ngarrwa Secondary College was a tight contest. The scores were level at halftime, with strong defensive efforts and well-placed passes creating turnovers. However, not playing in front led to some missed opportunities. The third quarter saw a big improvement, but unfortunately, the momentum shifted, and the final score was 15-8. Despite the loss, it was a much-improved performance.
The final match against Brinbeal Secondary College was played in great spirits, with the team embracing the opportunity to have fun and try out different positions. It was a fantastic way to finish the day, with plenty of laughs and great teamwork on display. Well done to all the players for their effort and sportsmanship throughout the competition! Well done girls!
Futsal Results
Our senior 11-12 Boys’ and Girls’ teams played in the 2025 SSV Western Metro Division - Futsal at Derrimut Sports Stadium, Derrimut.
Match results below:
Y11-12 Girls
WCC vs Manor Lakes
Our original FDP students from 2023 were able to play together again. It took a while for the girls to shake of the rustiness from not having played together since 2023, but our girls were able to secure a 3-2 win against Manor Lakes.
WCC vs Tarneit College
We dominated this game from start to finish and finished 6-0 winners. The girls shared the goals amongst themselves with some new faces getting on the score sheet.
Final
WCC vs Manor Lakes
Spearheaded by our coach Alex Rolevski, our girls put on a fine display to take an early lead but let Manor Lakes back into the game with a goal. The girls then put their foot on the gas and were 4 -1 winners in the final.
Y11-12 Boys
WCC vs Grange
Our boys took an early 3-0 lead but let The Grange back in the game to make it 3-3. It was goal for goal from there until our boys regained focus and ran out 12-6 winners.
WCC vs Manor Lakes
By far the most entertaining game, it was goal for goal and our boys were able to seal the 5-4 Wyndham in the last minute with a great team goal.
WCC vs Bemin College
Having played two games back-to-back without a break the boys went down 3-0 early in the first half but we pegged a goal back late to make it 3-1 at half time. Our boys were visibly tired and struggled to trouble the Bemin keeper in the second half. No goals in the second half to either team. Bemin 3 -1 winners.
Another successful day for our teams.
- Our girls have qualified for Region Finals in May,
- Our boys finished runners-up in the division.
The students really enjoyed the day.

Intermediate Girls Netball
I wanted to take a moment to congratulate Intermediate Girls Netball Team. All of them showed incredible effort and sportsmanship during the netball matches. Although the results did not reflect a win, their display of respect, cooperation and excellence was truly inspiring.
The girls demonstrated exceptional teamwork and a positive attitude throughout the games. A special mention to Funaki Lavula of 9A, who took the initiative as a leader organising equipment during training, always on time, encouraged the girls and ran our warmup drills before our game. Please congratulate the team when you see them, they are a wonderful example of how true success in sports goes beyond just the score.
With the right support and mentorship, I believe these students will continue to shine both on and off the court!
