Pride and Progress: Highlights from the Boys' Boarding Community

As we reach the conclusion of another successful term at Kinross Wolaroi School, I am filled with pride and gratitude for the efforts and achievements of the boys' boarding community.

This term has been marked by dedication and hard work from our boarders during Prep. The increased engagement and effort have been commendable. Our boys have shown significant progress and have set a high standard for academic growth. Their perseverance and determination have not gone unnoticed, and I am confident that these efforts will continue to yield positive results in the future.

In addition to their academic accomplishments, our boarders have also excelled in various sporting arenas. Our rowers have demonstrated exceptional skill and teamwork, securing impressive results at the NSW Championships, the Head of the River, and The Australian National Championships. The cricket squad has had a stellar season, winning both the Wiburd and Douglas Shields. Furthermore, our basketball squad has shown great sportsmanship and character in their games, making us proud with their conduct on and off the court.

I would like to commend Lincoln Robinson, our Head Boy Boarder Prefect, for his exemplary leadership. His presentations during the site meeting in Week 9 of the term and at the Open Day were outstanding. His dedication and commitment to his role have been inspiring, and he has set a great example for his peers. You can look through his presentation in the PDF below.

Our boarders have enjoyed a variety of weekend activities, with Laser Tag and the Bathurst Driving Range being favourites. These activities have provided a great opportunity for the boys to relax and have fun, fostering a strong sense of camaraderie and community.

As we look forward to the winter sports season, there is growing excitement among our boarders. The first rugby fixtures took place last weekend, and the boys are eagerly anticipating the upcoming matches. Additionally, we are looking forward to National Boarding Week and the Boarding Charity netball event, which promise to be highlights of the term.

As we reflect on this term, it is evident that the boys in our boarding community have not only made significant strides academically but also in their sporting and leadership endeavours. Their hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm have been inspiring. I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations and thanks to all our boarders for their achievements and encourage them to continue striving for excellence.
