A Historic Victory for the KWS Lakers

PCYC Junior School Champions – Tuesday 7 April

A huge congratulations to the KWS Lakers, who have etched their names into school history as the Junior School’s first ever PCYC basketball champions. In what can only be described as a thrilling and hard-fought final against the formidable Spring Hill side, the Lakers demonstrated exceptional skill, unwavering determination, and remarkable teamwork.

The match was a true nail-biter, with both teams locked in a tight contest from the opening whistle. The lead shifted multiple times, and for much of the game, it remained uncertain who would claim the coveted title. With only four minutes remaining and trailing 20–22, the Lakers, under the steady guidance and strategic leadership of head coach Peter McCormack, dug deep and surged forward.

In a breathtaking finale, the team delivered two clutch baskets, swinging the momentum in their favour and clinching a 24–22 victory. The roar of the crowd filled the stadium as the final buzzer sounded—an unforgettable moment of triumph and pride. The Lakers’ resolve and composure under pressure were truly inspiring, marking this championship not just as a win on the scoreboard, but as a testament to their spirit and sportsmanship.

Bravo to the KWS Lakers on this incredible achievement—your legacy begins here!
