Principal's Report
- Tania Sorbello
As we approach the end of our first term of 2025, I would like to thank all of our staff and members of the school community for your support and positive energy throughout what has been a productive and settled term.
I would like to say a huge thank you to the army of volunteers who took part in Sunday’s Working Bee. The transformation of Alfred Crescent, the shifting of our bike racks to the area beside the Hall, the shift into our new ‘Fete Room’, along with many other general tidying tasks around the school was a mammoth effort and we are incredibly grateful for the extensive amount of work that was undertaken.
Erin will be taking leave this week. Please reach out to myself or Joe Dykes who will be undertaking the role of Acting Assistant Principal in Erin’s absence should you have any questions.
Last Friday’s Professional Development around literacy content and pedagogy was a wonderful success. Run by Decodable Readers Australia, and with more than 80 attendees from 23 schools, the day provided educators with an opportunity to develop their understanding of the current research around literacy acquisition and effective pedagogical approaches in the delivery of content. These days are such a wonderful opportunity for us to continue our own learning journey and improve our practice. We look forward to sharing more with our community about this learning throughout the year.
“This week in Kitchen Garden we cooked orecchiette (pasta) and pumpkin salad. We shaped the orecchiette with our hands, and made the sauce by mixing fresh tomatoes with tomato puree. The food was delicious and we had a lot of fun. Martina and Viola”
