The Bilbies received a special visit from Loukas' Nana. The Bilbies were beautifully behaved while Jilna read 'Who Pooed in my Loo". Thanks for coming to Marangaroo, Jilna, we loved having you in our library. 😊

The Quokka's were surprised again. Aysha Jade was all smiles when she saw Nana popped in to see us. Rebekah read 'Noises at Night' while the Quokkas all listened attentively. Good Job Quokkas!

The Kookaburras had a special visitor during their library session. Raynes mum, Alyssa, read 'Prank Queen' to the class. Thanks for coming Alyssa the students enjoyed your book. I think we need to add that one to our collection. 😊

The lucky Magpies had another special visitor this afternoon. Jesse's mum was this week's Mystery Reader. Thank you, Timeea.

Thank you, Timeea for coming back into school to read 'Chomp' to the Quokkas. Timmy was very excited to see you. 😊

Thank you, Chloe for coming in to read 'Michael Jordan' to the Kangaroo’s and thank you for donating the book to our library. We are very grateful. Kingsley and the Kangaroos loved having you.

I have been overwhelmed with the response to the Mystery Readers initiative and wish to thank all the special parents and grandparents that have taken part. The students love their time in the library with the Mystery Reader and ALL sit so attentively. It has been fabulous to see them engaging with stories and books.

We will be continuing the program in term 2, so please get in touch if you would like to take part.

Special Mystery Readers WANTED!

Dear Parents,

I hope this message finds you well. We have an exciting activity coming up in our library this year, and I hope many of you can be a part of it.

Over the next few weeks, we are introducing Mystery Reader to your child’s library session. On this special day, a surprise guest will be visiting our library to read aloud to the students. But here’s the fun part… the identity of the reader will be a mystery! Each reader will provide subtle clues leading up to their visit, and the students will have to guess who they are.

I am reaching out to ask if you would like to be one of our Mystery Readers! If you’re interested, please get in touch via e-mail, dojo or pop in to see me Tuesday/Wednesday with the following details:

  1. Name and relationship to the student (e.g., Mum, Dad, Aunt, Uncle, etc.)
  2. 5 clues about your student, by the end of the five clues your student should be the only one left standing.
  3. Preferred date for your visit. (this will need to fall on the same day as your students allocated library session which will be a Tuesday or Wednesday).
  4. It’s a Mystery, so please do not let your child know if you are coming in.

This activity is for students in the following classes. Bilbies, Magpies, Kangaroos, Quokkas and Echidnas. The Wallabies will join us for term 2, once they have settled into school life.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

Warm regards,

Mrs Preston
